Dr. George A. Mueller, MD F.A.C.S.
There are several surgical options available for the treatment of Morbid Obesity. Our surgeons perform the LAPAROSCOPIC Roux-en-y Divided Gastric Bypass, which is the GOLD STANDARD procedure in the United States. Dr. George Mueller is the primary surgeon at San Diego General & Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Mueller received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Southern California. Following his completion at the University of Southern California he attended St. George's University School of Medicine and received his degree as a medical doctor. He then completed his surgical residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital where he acted as Chief Resident from 1986-1987.
Dr. Mueller is currently the Medical Director for the Sharp Memorial Hospital Bariatric Program in San Diego, California. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is Board Certified, and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Mueller has performed thousands of Laparoscopic procedures and made the decision to offer the Gastric Bypass procedure in 2001. The growing epidemic of Morbid Obesity has given Dr. Mueller a sense of responsibility and a passion for helping treat those individuals suffering from this debilitating disease. Dr. Mueller takes pride in providing his patients with a comprehensive program within a comfortable and caring environment
Monique Nasland, CMA, BHA
Monique is the Program Director for San Diego General & Bariatric Surgeons. She oversees, develops and manages insurance contracts, public relations, patient flow, and marketing strategies. Monique is the primary contact for all business related questions.
Laura Greiman, M.P.H., R.D.
Laura Greiman is the Clinical Dietitian for San Diego General & Bariatric Surgeons. She has been a Registered Dietitian for over 11 years and has been with the practice the past two years. Previously, she was a Navy Dietitian serving on active duty for seven years and is currently in the Navy Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Laura consults with our patients prior to surgery and at specific postoperative follow-up visits. She also conducts our monthly nutritional support groups, which are scheduled on the second Monday of every month.
Amanda Cao
Amanda is currently working as an insurance specialist and patient processor for Dr. George Mueller's weight-loss surgery program. Amanda will be your first point of contact following your attendance at one of our weight-loss surgery informational seminars.
